The Management Committee (MC) meets every month to go through what’s happening at the club, discuss ideas, make decisions, plan events, etc.

Here’s a summary of what happened at the last MC meeting on Monday 12 February, plus some action points:

  • preparation of the OGM on 18 Feb, main topic will be club rebuild update
  • update on the Argo: more drivers to be trained, maintenance working well, SLSA inspection pending
  • promote the active kids program $100 subsidy for season 2018/2019
  • chase council to fix the outside tap
  • entry fee for state championships for two junior competitors to be paid by club
  • update on the new MOU with council for the new club rebuild and vote to proceed
  • approval to finance nippers end of season & nippers volunteer events
  • decision to promote surf boat rowing more at club level to attract new rowers
  • decision to push back on channel 9’s request to promote their shows with members
  • ask Shore school to clean up after they use the club & bathrooms
  • decision to reduce club fees for two long-serving members
  • find ways to encourage nippers to join cadets
  • consider purchase of inflatable island for season 2018/2019 for nippers
  • update on IRB maintenance & service
  • decision to have club cleaned twice weekly during the season
  • decision to highlight permission to publish member photos during enrolment process
  • decision that training recruits pay for required items as per their needs
