On Wednesday 28 February a group of Year 9 St. Luke’s grammar school students visited our club as part of a architecture & design project. Their task is to redesign the club in line with the same brief which we are currently operating on for the planned rebuild.

They were taken on a full tour of the club to become familiar with the key elements required by surf lifesaving clubs. Many photos were taken and questions asked. Some students ran surveys asking community members about what they thought of the current facility and what they would like in the new version.

They will now go into design mode. We have been promised to see the result of their work, which we will publish in a future newsletter. Maybe some of their ideas may flow into our own design, who knows?
