Thanks to cyclone Gita in the Southern Pacific the beach was closed and only the beach events were held in round 2 of the “fun and famous” Long Reef Club Championships on Sunday. Beach run, beach sprint, beach flags and water flags still offered plenty of entertaining competition.

To see the overall results after round 2, click here. You will see that in the running for overall club champion is Dione Mead, with cadet McKenzie Davie close behind. Further back the men (Zeke, Zak and Bruce) have some work to do in Round 3 if they want the big trophy.

Round 3 is on 4 March from 10am to 12pm. There will be plenty of points up for grabs if water events go ahead and the tables could be turned. Even if you don’t feel very competitive you could still win a fabulous lucky door prize up to the value of $300. Don’t miss out!

The rules to the Long Reef Club Championships can be found here. For any questions, please contact Zak Harrington via e-mail (competition.captain@longreef.com).
