Nippers Final Session and Presentation Day – by Mark Smith
Yet another superb Longy afternoon! We have been blessed with great weather this season and Saturday the 3rd March was no exception. Great weather and great conditions once again. There was a buzz of excitement in the courtyard as the huge turn out of nippers got ready for the final session of the season. I feel the under 10 boys had the best 2 hours of the year with lots of time on the boards, ins and outs, parent/kids tug-o-war and a swimming comp! But the highlight was our 50m swim to a sand bank where we hung out and practiced body surfing the sets. The kids loved the spontaneity of the day.
The presentation was really well organised and we got plenty of time in our separate age groups to get some great photos of the kids and parents and time to celebrate each others achievements. By now we were starving! The free BBQ with burgers or sausages was a huge hit! Thank you all that were involved in making this the beast season yet!
