We have received an e-mail from Louise Lambeth, a fellow surf lifesaver, who has written a children’s book to help keep our little ones safe on the beach and in the ocean. Here’s what she had to say:

“Dear Longreef SLSC, I am an Ocean Beach surf lifesaver who has written a children’s surf safety story book to help educate families on how to stay safe at the beach. It is aimed to the 3-8 year age group and will also be great for non English speaking background families. SLSA has endorsed the book and it is now being prepared for printing. All profits go back to surf life saving education. I am looking to the surf lifesaving community to help get this book into print by either donation or pre ordering copies of the book. Could you please let your members know about his book. You can find out more details at: https://chuffed.org/project/annie-and-the-waves.

Kind regards, Louise Lambeth (0431 573 191, louiselambeth@hotmail.com)”

So far, Louise has raised abouth half of the $5000 which she requires to get the book printed. With a little more help, she will be able to realise her inspirational project. There’s a nice video on the website which explains the story behind the book. Click here to view it.
