The countdown has begun… just over two weeks until Nippers Commences.
This year, our well-known members and age manager veterans Nooks and Dione are at the helm running the Nippers organisation, with a few adjustments to ensure we are COVID-Safe.
We are excited to get everyone down to Nippers again this season. We aim to make Nippers as fun as possible for parents and kids, as our Nippers learn beach safety for another year.
Here are some important things to note for the 2020/21 Long Reef SLSC Nippers season;
Nippers Proficiency Assessment – two dates to undertake an assessment.
Remember parents, before your Nippers start on Saturday 21 November, they must complete their proficiency assessment. So, come on down to Collaroy Ocean Pool this Saturday 7 November or Saturday 14 November between 10am – 12pm and get your kids to complete their assessment.
There’s no need to book in, just turn up, sign in, and get your kids to line up. Like last week, if the assessment is cancelled due to bad weather, we will notify parents via Team App.
Nippers will commence at the same time of 3pm each Saturday from Saturday 21 November.
Nippers will start as per-usual at 3pm each Saturday from 21 November. By the time Nippers commences, we hope to be starting to operate out of the new temporary clubhouse, aka The Shed, which is located on the South Side of the Long Reef Carpark.
Parent duties are still happening
As part of making Nippers happen, we need parents to sign up for two duties per child over the season. So share this role between mum and dad and make it easy for yourselves. Watch out for the parent duties register, it will be released soon.
Post Nippers BBQ and Bar
For those wondering whether the BBQ and Bar will still open after Nippers on a Saturday arvo. The answer is, yes, we hope for this to happen. The Management Committee is working out how we can operate the post BBQ and Bar under COVID safe rules and regulations.
