We’re on track to complete the build and fit-out of the temporary club house in time for the Nippers season” says Chris Diggins, Longy Facilities Manager..

Construction of the temporary club house (aka the Shed) continues to progress nicely. Despite delays due to strong winds and rain, the main framework is now up and we are on track to complete the build and fit-out in time for the commencement of the Nippers season on Saturday 21 November.

Needless to say, it’s a BIG structure, which will have plenty of space to store our equipment, and allow us to run indoor activities, such as Bronze Medallion & SRC training, as well as other educational activities planned for the new year.

Once the panels are up, the floor will go in, followed by the inside partitions and toilet blocks. Chief shed builder and Facilities Manager Chris Diggins (aka Digs) and our Cadet Manager Stuart were digging trenches on Sunday. More club members will join the building crew in coming weeks to complete the interior fit-out.

Stay tuned for a Nippers competition to help us with the interior decoration of the Shed, which will be our temporary home until the new club house is completed in February 2021.
