Registration for NEW Nippers and Cadets 2025/26 opens 16 August 2025
Please pay your fees and then renew your membership by following the two steps in the order set out below:
Step 1 - PAY YOUR MEMBERSHIP FEES

Note: If you are a Life or Distinguished Member, you may proceed straight to Step 2.
Step 2 - JOIN
JOIN via the SLS Hub
ALL new & returning family members (including Nipper parent/s) need to update/complete their personal registration details and sign the declarations.

THEN:
WAIT for your Pending Membership request to be processed. The Registrar will need to check that you have completed both steps 1 and 2, and will contact you if a correction is required. You can view the status of your membership application by logging into the SLS Hub.
Please note:
- New Active/Patrolling Long Reef membership applications will need to be approved by the Long Reef Membership or Management Committee, which may result in approval being longer than 7 days.
- The Registrar and all Management Committee members are unpaid volunteers, so please be patient for responses, thank you.

ANNUAL conditions of Nipper (5-13yo) and Cadet (U14) Membership at Long Reef SLSC
- Every nipper is financial for the current SLS season – purchase at the Long Reef Online Shop
- Every nipper has a financial parent for the current SLS season – Minimum of 1 parent per family – purchase at the Long Reef Online Shop
- Every nipper is registered or renewed with SLSA and Long Reef SLSC via the SLS Hub
- Every nipper parent is registered or renewed for the current SLS Season with SLS and Long Reef SLSC via the SLS Hub
This means checking and updating your details, signing any new and existing declarations all , and submitting. Please note that you may need to create a Members area account and family group, if you have not already done so, regardless of being a members of SLS for any amount of time.
ANNUAL conditions of patrolling CADET (14-18yo) Membership at Long Reef SLSC
- Every Cadet is financial – purchase at the Long Reef Online Shop
- Every Cadet is registered or renewed with SLSA and Long Reef SLSC via the SLS Members Area SLS Hub
This means checking and updating your details, signing any new and existing declarations all , and submitting. Please note that you may need to create a Members area account, regardless of being a members of SLS for any amount of time.

*Discount for Nipper families with patrolling members
A 20% discount will apply to families with at least one patrolling member.
**Competition Levy – Includes provision of Sponsored Hi-vis vest, Club Cap, entry into all SLSA and ASRL (rowing) events.

Priority of Nipper/Cadet Registrations for the Season
There are maximum numbers for each Nippers age group, which will be strictly adhered to this season. We are sorry that some kids will miss out, but these limits will enable us to operate the Nippers program effectively and safely.
Registrations are subject to availability and will be processed in order of receipt from 27 July (renewals) and 16 August (new registrations). Make sure you have completed ALL steps so that your registration is not delayed and your child does not miss out.

Become a Surf Life Saver
Become a Surf Life Saver
To become a Surf Life Saver at Long Reef, you need to join the club, and complete your Bronze Medallion course. You need to be at least 15 years of age, and demonstrate ability in a variety of areas.
Join the club
To join Long Reef SLSC, you will need to register via the Surf Life Saving Australia Members Area (however, new Nippers need to show proof of age in person for membership to be completed).
